Early Warning System
Lai Nullah (Urdu: نالہ لئی) is a rain-fed stream flowing through Islamabad and Rawalpindi, known for severe monsoon flooding. Originating in the Margalla Hills, it has caused deadly flash floods, including the devastating 2001 and 2008 events. With a vast catchment and multiple tributaries, Lai Nullah remains a critical point of concern for urban flood management in the twin cities.
